Neysha Rivera is a hardworking full-time student at Rhode Island College where she is majoring in Accounting. She is part of the Accounting Association on-campus and works full-time. Neysha is always on the go and appreciates all the support she receives from College Visions as she pursues her college degree! Read her interview below:
Where are you from, what college/university do you attend, what is your major and why did you choose it?
I’m from Providence, Rhode Island and I attend Rhode Island College (RIC). I choose it because it was a great fit for me and it’s close to my house. So it was a win/win opportunity for me AND it has a #1 Accounting Program! I’d say I was lucky!
Are you part of any on-campus groups and why did you join?
Yes, I’m in the Accounting Association. I joined because they help us look for accessible internships and job opportunities.
Can you describe your favorite CV memory so far?
Wow. CV was an incredible experience for me. I begin to think about what I would have done without CV and where I would have been. I loved the workshops. They were so entertaining and educational. What moved me the most was the program itself; it’s there to help students proceed in life and that really touches me. You would expect your high school guidance counselors to help like CV does, but for me CV has helped me more than anyone! I’d say that I’m truly blessed that to be part of the CV family.
What are you most looking forward to in the coming year?
I’m looking forward to proceeding in my education and continuing on in my major. Hopefully, I’ll be starting some internships and being that much closer to starting my career.
What would you say to donors who are consistently giving to CV and making this resource available to you?
I want to truly thank you for helping us get the support we need. You are helping so many people gain necessary experience and take on the same opportunities as I’ve been given. We appreciate you!
Students like Neysha see the value of a college education and they don’t see graduating from college as an unattainable goal because of your support. Thank you!
And best of luck this year, Neysha. Thank you for taking the time out to share your story!
